ABOUT
Hi, I'm Joe, and I am currently working as a professional Game Designer at EA North's Manchester Studio, Playdemic...
But where did I start?
I started my career in game development by attending the University of Central Lancashire from 2016 and graduated in 2019 with a BA Hons in Game Design.
Soon after I graduated, I landed a QA Engineer position at Sony PlayStation and not long after starting I was promoted to a Compliance Engineer thanks to my heavy tech background and determination to stand out within the company.
The titles I worked on while at Sony were:
Dreams by Media Molecule
Nioh 2 by Team Ninja
Destruction AllStars by Lucid Games
The Last of Us Part II by Naughty Dog
Iron Man VR by Camouflaj
Predator: Hunting Grounds by IllFonic
MLB The Show 20 by  San Diego Studio

I left Sony in early 2020 when I joined Skyhook Games as a Junior Game Designer before progressing to a Level 1, then Level 2, and finally a Level 3 Game Designer.
During my time at Skyhook, I worked primarily as a Generalist Game Designer, providing Level, Mechanic and Systems Design for their first major IP, Lawn Mowing Simulator.
Since the release of Lawn Mowing Simulator and it's subsequent updates and DLC packages, I began working as the primary Game Designer on Lawn Mowing Simulator VR during it's 18 month development; where I was responsible for the majority of all design duties, from all disciplines found necessary for the title, as well as overseeing the general development of the title for the latter year of the project.
Alongside Lawn Mowing Simulator VR, I provided much pre-production design and supplementary design for Skyhook Games' unreleased, published, Open-world Simulator.
Following the release of Lawn Mowing Simulator VR, I took on the role of creating pitches for Skyhook Games' next smaller scale project. We concepted a number of ideas with 5 of them resulting in pitches, all of which I either created myself or had a hand in creating; 2 being a Lawn Mowing Simulator and/or Lawn Mowing Simulator VR spin-off title, 1 a Couch Co-Op Party Game, 1 a Unique Puzzle Game, and the last being a Real-World VR Simulation Game that earned Skyhook Games the UK Games Fund grant.
I Left Skyhook Games with a wealth of experience and knowledge in August 2024 when I joined EA North's Manchester Studio, Playdemic; Where I began working on Playdemic's highly successful and long running mobile hit title, Golf Clash.
